Workmanship warranty

The warranty, in writing.

What our labour is covered for, what it is not, and what to do if something needs putting right. Written down, so nobody has to remember what was said at handover.

What is covered

Our labour, for [CONFIRM: two years] from handover.

The manufacturer warranties on everything we install run alongside this one, on their own terms. We hand you those papers with the keys.

The warranty covers the work itself: if something we built, installed or wired fails because of the way it was done, we come back and put it right at our cost.

It starts the day the job is handed over and it is written into your contract, not promised on a website. You get it on paper, with the manufacturer warranties for everything we installed and the certificates behind them.

There is no form to fill in and no department to reach. The same owner who quoted your job and ran the site is the one who picks up when you call about it, which is the part most warranties quietly leave out.

  • Workmanship

Anything we built, installed or connected, where the failure is down to how it was done.

  • Tile and waterproofing

The membrane, the sealed transitions and the tile we laid over them.

  • Electrical and lighting

Circuits, devices and fixtures we installed, under our Master Electrician licence.

  • Cabinetry and millwork

The install itself: doors, drawers, hardware and the way it all sits.

What is not covered

What a warranty cannot cover.

None of this is unusual. It is the same list any licensed contractor works to, and it is here so there is nothing to argue about later.

  • Materials you supplied

We stand behind the install. The material itself is between you and whoever sold it.

  • Normal wear and movement

Grout lines, caulking and seasonal settling in a house that keeps living.

  • Work by others after us

Anything altered, added or repaired by another trade once we handed over.

  • Appliances and fixtures

Covered by their own manufacturer warranties, which we register and hand to you.

  • Damage and neglect

Misuse, impact, or water left standing where it should not be.

If something goes wrong

Three steps, and a person who answers.

  • 1

    Tell us

Call or email one of the owners. A photograph of the problem helps, but it is not required.

  • 2

    We come and look

We book a visit within [CONFIRM: five business days] and tell you what we see, in writing.

  • 3

    We put it right

If it falls under the warranty, we schedule the repair and carry the cost. If it does not, you get the price before anything starts.

Who stands behind it

The company on your contract.

The same entity that quoted the job, signed it and pulled the permits. Ask for any of the paperwork below and we will send it.

  • Legal name

[CONFIRM: registered company name and business number]

  • Working since

    [CONFIRM: 2011]

  • WSIB

    [CONFIRM: clearance number]

  • Liability insurance

    [CONFIRM: insurer and coverage amount]

  • Master Electrician

    [CONFIRM: ECRA/ESA licence number]

Questions about the warranty are fair questions.

Ask them before you sign, not after. One of the owners comes out, measures the room and brings the contract the warranty is written into.
